Vagabundo lyrics by Robi Draco Rosa translated from Spanish to English (ambos letras en español y inglés)

Robi Draco Rosa - Vagabundo (espanol) Robi Draco Rosa - Vagabond (english)

In a deserted place I believed
I'd die of thirst and a pregnant
animal of light gave me a drink

Tongues of the sun drink
the beverages of pleasure
and feel the mouth of fear,
you and I, sand and scorpion,
in a sea of fire,
under the kiss of the night

Roaming across the world, I walk, I walk,
I ask the Chimera the riddle of destiny
Mad nomad, night owl, and dreamer,
a bum

Sand and light, sperm, and the smell of youth,
Tongues of the sun drink the pleasure
Feel the mouth of fear,
you and I, sand and scorpion,
in a sea of fire
I'm searching for the Chimera,
under the kiss of the night

Tongues of the sun, oasis of love, poets in Eden,
I finally found you in this fire
I kiss the fire and it doesn't burn me

Roaming across the world, I walk, I walk,
I ask the Chimera the riddle of destiny
Mad nomad, night owl, and dreamer,
a bum
A throne without a king,
a tramp
A temple without god,
a bum

  1. This is incredibly late but if you don't mind I'd like to suggest a few changes to this translation. [Native Puerto Rican here]. Hope this helps with understanding certain phrases spoken In Spanish [since you're learning Spanish]

"a pregnant animal of light gave me a drink" Should actually be, "an animal pregnant with light gave me a drink"

"Lenguas de sol" - The way this is worded means the tongues are made of suns [plural]. So I guess "tongues of suns" would make more sense.

The phrase "beber a tragos" means swigging, or to drink in large gulps. So what he is saying is "gulping pleasure or swigging pleasure"

"Sentir la boca del miedo" What he is expressing is that you can feel your mouth from the fear. Since dry mouth is a result of extreme fear or anxiety.

"I'm searching for the chimera" should just be "searching for the chimera"

A more appropriate translation for "hoguera" would be "inferno"..."I finally found you in this inferno"

"I kiss the fire and it doesn't burn me" Should be "I kiss the fire and I don't burn" because he uses an O at the end of "quemo" instead of an A.

And last but still very important. Considering the context of the song, a much more appropriate translation to "vagabundo" should be "wanderer" rather than "bum".

    a wanderer
    A throne without a king,
    a wanderer
    A temple without god,
    a wanderer

    Makes more sense.
